Men's mental health

International Men’s Health Week – 10/06/2024 – 16/06/2024

It is an opportunity to highlight the importance of men’s health, and to promote and support the health and wellbeing of men in our communities.

During Men’s health Week, it is a time to focus on you or the men in your life and their whole being – physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

It is a time to raise awareness and encourage men to speak up about their mental wellbeing.  Mental health affects everyone, regardless of gender, however societal pressures pressure men to keep their emotions to themselves. This unfortunately, can lead to struggles in silence and a higher risk of mental health issues going unaddressed.

Working together and raising awareness and promoting avenues for support, we endeavour to reduce the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and ensures that no one suffers alone.  If you, or someone you know is struggling, there are resources available:

  • Beyond Blue (1300 224 636)
  • Lifeline Australia (13 11 14)
  • Men’s Line Australia (1300 789 978)

Remember, it is perfectly acceptable to ask someone ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation with someone who may be experiencing life challenges.
