INFECTION CONTROL
You can Count on us during these challenging times
Pickwick’s network of specialist cleaners across the nation are trained and certified in infection control procedures to prevent and protect against the spread of COVID-19 and maintain safe and healthy environments for you and your clients.
Our enhanced cleaning and disinfection procedures help prevent the spread of COVID-19 before or immediately following notification of a suspected or confirmed case (after).
We offer:
- Enhanced cleaning for prevention of COVID-19 (before)
Preventative cleaning increases the frequency of cleaning and sanitising (disinfecting) to help remove bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19, using >60% ethanol solution and/or benzalkonium chloride (wipes). This cleaning focuses on high-touch surfaces (e.g. door handles, handrails, tabletops, light switches, etc), as well as communal or shared areas. Fogging with a fine mist of antibacterial spray/ disinfectant can also be used during this process. - Enhanced cleaning following notification of COVID-19 case (after)
Two step-cleaning helps destroy COVID-19. This cleaning starts immediately following the notification of a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19. It is a full, deep, biohazard, forensic and terminal clean of all affected areas (a full decontamination). The first step is to clean all horizontal and vertical surfaces including furniture and electrical equipment as well as blinds, curtains, carpets.Following the clean we chemically sanitise (step 2) all surfaces to remove germs and viruses including COVID-19 using sodium hypochloride (bleach) or >60% ethanol solution sanitisers. Benzalkonium chloride (wipes) can also be used.
Cleaning and sanitising
- Cleaning
During this process we thoroughly clean everything using specialist chemicals. We clean items such as all hard surfaces and furniture, equipment, horizontal and vertical surfaces and all frequently touched areas (e.g. door handles, handrails, tabletops, light switches, etc). All cleaning equipment including mop heads and cloths are laundered using hot water and completely dried before reusing. Buckets are emptied and cleaned with a new batch of chlorine bleach solution and allowed to completely dry before they are used again.
- Sanitising
The aim of sanitising is to reduce harmful bacteria and viruses present on surfaces. For COVID-19 ‘decontamination’ cleaning we use sodium hypochloride with the manufacturer’s specification regarding the dilution rate, contact time and safety precautions, as well as safe storage arrangements.
Personal protective equipment
To ensure the health and safety of our employees while delivering this critical service we use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate to the level of cleaning required (e.g. where a confirmed case exists, disposable protective coveralls are worn). We adhere to the COVID-19 work method statements developed for operations.
